CCPC Grants Approval for Speed Fibre Group’s Acquisition of BT Communications Ireland 

Speed Fibre Group, the home of Irish telecommunications providers Enet and Magnet+, welcomes the approval by the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) for its proposed acquisition of BT Communications Ireland Limited (BTCIL), BT’s wholesale and enterprise business unit in Ireland.

This approval marks an important milestone in the transaction process. The acquisition remains subject to final steps, including approval under Ireland’s foreign direct investment legislation and the completion of the transfer of the businesses that are not part of the transaction. Completion is expected later in 2025.
